Smokey Teton Sunset

This was my first and so far only time up in Grand Teton National Park in 2017. My friend and I had finished a longer hike and stopped at this spot for wine and some sunset snacks. I brought my camera with, not knowing how the evening would set up, especially with all the smoke in the air. While sitting and relaxing, the sun set up perfectly so I went to the car to grab my tripod. The water was calm, no one around and the sunburst reflection in the water was a cool effect. The smoke was a little disappointing at first, but I think the haze layer gives some natural warmth and casts an interesting layer of light over the Teton range.

Well, I guess you will have to go back and see what it’s like without the smoke from wildfires. Still, you made lemonade from what most would consider a lemon (in conditions).
