While on a business trip to Denver in early May 2019, I was able to take a few extra days to visit Rocky Mountains National Park. The weather was somewhat murky most of that time, with occasional breaks that allowed some decent light. This image was taken mid-morning. There was some soft backlight hitting the aspens, causing them to somewhat shimmer in the light. I was immediately taken with the contrast between the aspens and the mountains behind them, and knew at that time this was meant to be a B&W.
